We are actively seeking a person who is dedicated to their craft of engineering to come join a national company as their Vice President of Engineering. Our ideal candidate will not only have excellent experience in the engineering field, but also be a great and efficient leader who is able to take projects from initial proposal and implement them throughout all plants. The Vice President of Engineering is also responsible for all aspects of the company s engineering activities including: equipment, automation, manufacturing and facilities as it relates to mechanical, civil and electrical engineering. You will focus on the structuring and operation of the engineering function as a cohesive unit; the conceptualization and day-to-day management of simultaneous projects; delivering product designs to agreed specifications within time and budget constraints, and the fostering of innovative solutions to cater to internal and external customer needs.

Other responsibilities include:

-Hiring a team of talented individuals that fit technically and culturally
-Prioritize and direct engineering schedule - balancing the creation of new functionality, immediate needs of existing customers, and augmentation and management of architecture and infrastructure
-Possess a comprehensive understanding of the market and the technical implementation so as to be able to speak to feasibility versus opportunity of company direction and pivots
-Drive and augments the engineering process with primary goals of predictability, stability, and visibility
-Experienced at delivering commercial manufacturing products at scale and a framework for making impactful technical decisions
-Establish a culture of quality where verification/validation occur at every step
-Drive an architecture that facilitates quality and a process that enforces it
-Empower engineers to innovate while providing technical expertise/targeted questions to make a decision that is best for the business
-Participates in the strategic planning process and the development of operational plans and programs
-Establishes credibility throughout the organization with management and the team members in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of engineering issues
-Works with Executive Team to ensure that business partners and vendors are aligned with meeting capacity needs, advancing and defending proposed engineering solutions and sustaining highly valued working relationships that leads to Revolution as a preferred provider of products

-Steadfastly enforces policies and procedures of the organization to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company including, but not limited to: accounting, procurement, inventory control, inter-departmental planning and hand offs, scheduling, and practices related to supporting our people
-Works with VP of Operations to ensure that engineering goals are aligned with operations goals and overall company goals culminating in meeting customers needs.
-Develops budgets for research and development programs and is responsible for effective planning and control in the use of approved research and development funds. Responsible for the documentation of discoveries and inventions. Joins the executive team in determining how best to protect company s proprietary interest in its advanced technology.
-Must have a willingness to make educated but potentially difficult decisions
-Ensure engineers understands business direction and how individual work facilitates end goals
-Protects the company by keeping information confidential
-Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
-Over ten years progressive and proven experience in the Engineering arena at the manager executive level.
-Proven history of successful problem solving with strong sense of ownership and urgency
-Strategic managerial style
-Exceptional negotiating skills.
-Exceptional ability to work in harmony with teams throughout the company.
-The ability to excel in an external environment.


-Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology preferred.
-Background in manufacturing methods, process improvements programs and procedure is required.
-5 - 10 years mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
-Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training/Black Belt Certification.
-Blown film extrusion and plastics recycling equipment experience is a plus.
-CAD and/or Auto-Desk skills is a plus.
-Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA, EPA and AQMD standards.
-Knowledge of Plastic Packaging industrial standards.
-Computer literate strong database and Microsoft Office experience required.
-Must be able to travel 40% 50% of the time
