Ideal candidates will be experienced with specialties in dermatology and Gastroenterology and know up to date coding practices, ICD-10 and medical terminology for accurate coding of specimens. Applicants must have certification through AAPC or AHIMA, we are willing to look at candidates who have received certification and are at the entry level.
These positions will have you working on computers all day and typing codes, this job would not be suited for people who prefer patient interaction or diversity in their work such as a receptionist or medical aide. Candidate must be able to sit in cubicle environment for long periods of time.
Other responsibilities include:
Create billing reports for partner laboratories
Assists patients with insurance questions and billing inquires
Works with the rest of the department to ensure timely completion of work
Assist with other duties as assigned
This is a full time position, Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. Pay is dependent on experience, but ranges from $15-$20/hr. Dress code is business casual or wearing scrubs.
Knowledge in Gastroenterology or Dermatology highly preferred, but can train as well
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
